Body Weight Training
Body weight training is the best way to personalize your workout.
If you're a 140 lb. woman, you don't need to push the same weight as a 200 lb. man.
By training with our own bodyweight, we adapt to carry that weight, so in our everyday lives, we experience less stress on our heart and our joints.
If you don't challenge your mind and body, it will go to waste.

When we were 4 years old, we could squat down, tushies touching the ground. At 5, we could walk on balance beams. At 6, we could swing on the monkey bars, holding up our own weight. What happened?
We stopped pushing our bodies and lost the ability to do things. But we're not simply destined for walkers and wheelchairs. Studies show people who exercise slow down the aging process and the muscle loss associated with it. Our bodies adapt to the strains they are put under and we get stronger as we're challenged. Working the body is also good for building strong brains (another study proved that).
Problem is, even people who are religious about going to the gym often do the same things over and over. If that sounds boring, it is - especially for your heart, lungs and muscles, which have mastered the workout and aren't being challenged any more. Weight machines aren't challenging enough after the first month or two to make a difference in your body, and they're not functional (i.e. the movements don't apply to your real life). That's why MissFit believes in functional body weight training.
